OUR
MISSION
Precious Daughters is
dedicated to helping women, children and families worldwide
through the full gospel of Jesus Christ. Networking with local
and international churches and ministries, this nonprofit,
interdenominational Christian organization brings healing
and restoration to broken lives by meeting spiritual and physical
needs.
MINISTRY
In 1996 God touched the hearts of five women
with the message that He loves us and calls us "precious
daughter." That profound truth had to be shared and at
our first meeting in 1997, hundreds of women found salvation
in Jesus, were healed and baptized. Today, we continue to
share His love, providing women of all ages, cultures and
denominations a comforting, accepting place to receive healing,
peace and direction through the loving embrace of our Savior.
When we speak the truth of God's love into women's lives,
pray for and love them, they will never be the same. Families
and marriages are transformed as “precious daughters”
return home renewed, refreshed and remade. Our message of
freedom for women has traveled from the northwestern United
States, including Oregon, Alaska and Montana to Australia,
Canada, Europe, India and Israel.
Touched by the suffering of women and children
in 3rd world countries, Precious Daughters established the
Glorious Children’s Home in 1999. Located in Rameswaram,
India, the home provides refuge, love and education year round
to over 100 orphaned and abandoned children. See "Children's
Ministries" for more information. In addition,
our missionaries have traveled to India, Africa, Australia,
Haiti and Israel. Over the years we have supported ministries
in India, Africa and Haiti with medical and other supplies.
Our call to the nations does not overshadow
our desire to serve locally. The Messenger Van travels the
streets of Portland serving the homeless and hopeless a hot
meal and the love of Jesus. Partnering with Bridge of Faith
Ministries, Portland Foursquare Church, Southeast Community
Church, the Oregon Food Bank and a small army of volunteers,
we prepare and serve meals to hundreds every month. Our weekly
prayer meetings are open to the community as well as our conferences
and gatherings.
We will continue to minister to those with
broken lives; and through our faith in Christ, we will impact
the world for years to come.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Alberta Church
A founding member of the Precious Daughters ministry,
"Bertie" is the visionary and encourager for
the ministry. From her earliest years she enjoyed a foundation
in faith and healing as her parents ministered with John
G. Lake in Spokane, WA, San Francisco, CA and Portland,
OR. Emma and Al Altorfer took their daughters to minister
with "Dad" Lake in the healing rooms, on the
streets and in the meetings, carrying them home long after
the last street car had passed by. Many have been healed
through Bertie's faith filled prayers. In addition, her
intercessory gifting has taken her to Australia with Patricia
King and Israel with the Portland Healing Rooms.
Bertie's casual story telling style of speaking inspires,
encourages and builds faith. Her unassuming petite stature
hides a powerful minister who surprises even the toughest
men. |

Leslie Leland
One of the founders of Precious Daughters, Leslie has
served as its leader since 1998. Ordained by the International
Church of the Foursquare Gospel she served on the ministry
staff of the Portland Foursquare Church for 10 years before
moving to administrate Precious Daughters full time. As
the vision for the ministry grew, Leslie met the challenges
by casting vision, motivating volunteers and networking
with other ministries and churches.
An energetic and humorous speaker, she brings a message
of inner healing and joy through relationship with the
Savior. Leslie's passion for worship and ministering prayer
has given her the unofficial title of "the Holy Ghost
Peter Pan." |
TESTIMONY
I would like to share an amazing experience
in my life that was initiated by God and orchestrated through
Precious Daughters. After the devastating earthquake in Haiti
I was asked by Leslie Leland with Precious Daughters if I
would be interested in going to Haiti to help provide medical
assistance. My daughter and I, both nurses, jumped at the
opportunity. All the plans and the team came together by God's
divine coordination. Precious Daughters assisted us every
step of the way with notification for sponsorship and helped
and guided us in how to proceed to pull this all together.
My daughter and I were novices about organizing a medical
mission trip like this and Precious Daughters were there every
step of the way with advice and assistance in how to proceed.
We received by donations through Precious Daughters all the
funding needed for the trip, to help purchase supplies, get
all our vaccines and all the miscellaneous items needed for
such a trip. With Precious Daughters experience and
wonderful Godly advise everything got pulled together and
coordinated for us to get to go to Haiti and spend a week
providing medical assistance to the people of Haiti with a
10 member team. It was such an amazing opportunity and
we were blessed beyond our wildest imaginations! Every
penny of donated funds went towards our trip and to bless
the Haitians and ministry that we worked with there.
I can't say enough about how grateful I am to Leslie and Bertie
and Precious Daughters for helping to make this small seed
of an idea come to completion. We were able to bless the Haitian's
with the help of many sponsors and supporters through this
wonderful ministry. Thank you, Precious Daughters, for
giving so much of yourselves to helping others and allowing
others the opportunity to be a blessing! May the Lord bless
you immensely!
