Our Mission &
Ministry
OUR MISSION
Precious Daughters is dedicated to helping women, children
and families worldwide through the full gospel of Jesus
Christ. Networking with local and international churches
and ministries, this nonprofit interdenominational Christian
organization brings healing and restoration to broken
lives by meeting spiritual and physical needs.
MINISTRY
In 1996 God touched the hearts of five women with the
message that He loves us and calls us "precious daughter."
That profound truth had to be shared and in 1997, hundreds
of women found salvation in Jesus, were healed and baptized
at our first meeting. Today, we continue to share His
love, providing women of all ages, cultures and denominations
a comforting, accepting place to receive healing, peace
and direction through the loving embrace of our Savior.
When women's lives are changed by the power of God, their
families and marriages are restored as well. We have found
that when we speak the truth of God's love into women's
lives, pray for and love them, they will never be the
same. This ministry has traveled from the northwestern
United States, including Oregon, Alaska and Montana to
Australia, Canada, Europe, India and Israel with our message
of freedom for women.
As
Precious Daughters grew, we began to take on new challenges
consistent with our mission. The suffering of women and
children in 3rd world countries broke our hearts and we
responded by opening a children's home in India and sending
medical supplies to Nigeria. The Glorious Children's Home
in Rameswaram India provides refuge, love and education
year round. Over 100 orphaned and abandoned children are
cared for through our partnership with Body of Christ
Ministries, a recognized Indian charity. See "Children's
Ministries" for more information.
Our call to the nations does not overshadow
our desire to serve locally. We provide a monthly gathering
for Christians called "Worship and Prayer in the Upper
Room" and feed the homeless of Portland. The Messenger
Van ministry provides a hot meal, needed supplies and
the loving touch of Christian workers every Saturday.
Partnering with Bridge of Faith Ministries, Portland Foursquare
Church, Southeast Community Church, and a small army of
volunteers, we prepare and serve a meal to as many as
100 people every week.
As the doors open for us to minister to
broken lives we continue to say yes and by faith we will
impact our world for Christ in the months and years to
come.

President - Leslie Leland
One of the founders of Precious Daughters, Leslie has
served as its leader since 1998. Ordained by the International
Church of the Foursquare Gospel she served on the ministry
staff of the Portland Foursquare Church for 10 years before
moving to administrate Precious Daughters full time. As
the vision for theministry grew, Leslie met the challenges
by casting vision, motivating volunteers and networking
with other ministries and churches.
An energetic and humorous speaker, she brings a message
of inner healing and joy through relationship with the
Savior. Leslie's passion for worship and ministering prayer
has given her the unofficial title of "the Holy Ghost
Peter Pan."
Vice President - Alberta Church
A founding member of the Precious Daughters ministry,
"Bertie" is the visionary and encourager for
the ministry. From her earliest years she enjoyed a foundation
in faith and healing as her parents ministered with John
G. Lake in Spokane, WA, San Francisco, CA and Portland,
OR. Emma and Al Altorfer took their daughters to minister
with "Dad" Lake in the healing rooms, on the
streets and in the meetings, carrying them home long after
the last street car had passed by. Many have been healed
through Bertie's faith filled prayers. In addition, her
intercessory gifting has taken her to Australia with Patricia
King and Israel with the Portland Healing Rooms.
Bertie's casual story telling style of speaking inspires,
encourages and builds faith. Her unassuming petite stature
hides a powerful minister who surprises even the toughest
men.
